Somatic Trauma Therapy
safely support your body
we can heal together
Trauma informed care is the understanding of various types of trauma and their impact in our lives and culture. These include significant events and losses, chronic, developmental, insidious, intergenerational and vicarious traumatization.
The aim of trauma informed care is to create healthy, safe spaces and interactions that minimize re-traumatization and build strong, loving connections.
knowledge is powerful
Every living person has experienced trauma to some degree. However, not all of us can easily move through it. When traumas become stuck in our bodies, hearts and minds, our system compensates with sometimes maladaptive coping patterns that can keep us stuck.
In my practice we work to establish safety and stability first through self-care and regulation practices.
“I believe not only that trauma is curable, but that the healing process can be a catalyst for profound awakening.”
-Dr. Peter A. Levine
Creative Arts Therapy
access your truth
We are all creators by nature. Whether we allow ourselves to be is the key to unlocking our abilities. When we give ourselves the freedom and space to make mistakes, experiment and learn we are capable of magnificent growth.
Creative arts therapy aims to deconstruct the programming we’ve developed through our culture about what we can/cannot do and connect back to our inner knowing. You are the only person capable of accessing your true self.
Whether you choose to explore therapeutic art tools on your own or with a group, artmaking has the capacity to deepen personal awareness and tap into universal compassion.
